Mist Mountain Hot Springs Hike

Join us for a grueling uphill ascent (Not technical though) to the hidden Hot Springs on Mist Mountain. Departing Calgary from Crestmont at 9am

While the trail is only 7 km round-trip, it’s over 500 m of elevation gain in the 3.5 km trip uphill. The trail starts incredibly steep but tapers out to a more moderate incline. This hike requires substantial physical stamina, so if you’ve never been hiking before, or don’t have high endurance, please skip this event. We’ll do our best to keep a moderate group pace, but as this is already a 4 hour hike or so, we cannot wait for extremely slow hikers; however this is NOT a race. We will wait as much as we can, and take a slow and steady pace to the springs. We are not going to the summit - just the hot springs.

This is always insanely insanely insanely busy, so prepare for crowds. Make sure you also have your Kananaskis Park Pass.

Bring a towel, swim suit, lots of water, snacks, bear spray, first aid kit, hat/sunscreen, and anything else you need to be happy. THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE, so if you miss our group convoy from Crestmont, you must meet us at the trailhead for 10:45am as we start hiking PROMPTLY at 11 am. Ensure you download the OFFLINE MAP on the AllTrails app not only for the hiking route, but directions to the trailhead as well.

I am not a guide; I have no first aid training. Participate entirely at your own risk. There is no charge for this event. This is a casual, informal, event for anyone who wants to get on the trail with us!

If all goes as planned, we should be back in Calgary by 5pm.
